Rocky Slot 1

Rocky Slot

“If you’re lovin’ the thought of a little online slots workout, with a sweaty Sylvester Stallone, rock on… Here’s Rocky.”

Did you know that the original Rocky movie won three Oscars, including best picture, and that Sylvester Stallone was nominated twice both for the screenplay and as best actor. Who knows, if Sly hadn’t been up against both Peter Finch (Network) and Robert De Niro (Taxi Driver) he may have won the Academy Award.

The Rocky online slots is good. In fact, gaming software developers Playtech have – once again – proved themselves as contenders and created a game that punches above its weight. What we have here is a five reel, 25 payline game, with a cinematic bonus round, great animations, and music that sets the mood. (Cliché alert) It’s a knockout.

All the lead characters from Rocky and its sequels feature, including Apollo Creed, Mr T, and the Russian dude. To be honest, I lost interest in the movies after the first sequel. Talia Shire and Burt Young are also both in the fight. Absent, sadly, is any trace of the Eye of the Tiger.

Round Two

The eponymous Rocky is the game’s wild symbol and biggest winning combination. Get a bunch of Slys and you stand to pocket 10,000 times your line bet. You can also go on to gamble your win with a simple card turn game.

Winning combinations are rewarded with gif-style animations. If you are lucky enough to spell out the word ROCKY on all five reels, you win five times your total bet. Unfortunately, you get nothing for spelling COCKY.

The Rocky icon is the games scatter symbol and launches free games with a x2 multiplier. Get three and you get 15 games, 4 = 20 games, 5 = 25 games. I hit this playing £0.10p on 25 lines and won £114. Top, top, result.

Round Three

The game’s main bonus round is triggered when you get a white boxing glove on reel one and a red glove on reel five. The game stops and an animated fight starts. You must choose an opponent for Rocky from Apollo, Ivan, and Clubber.

A ten fight slug-fest ensues. For every round Rocky wins, you win a cash prize. Eventually, Rocky knocks out the opponent and the bonus round is over.

In Conclusion

I’m never too sure what the motivation of game developers is when they decide upon a game’s theme. Clearly, there are some Rocky fans at Playtech because this spin off has been executed with love and care. It’s a fun slot to play that pays well and entertains. I really like it and – to be honest – although not a knockout, it definitely wins on points.

Frank Says…

“Rocky rules. Damn those clichés this game is a heavyweight slot that would go ten rounds with most other games out there. The look and feel is on the money and the game captures that Rocky vibe beautifully. I just wanted to see the bit where he cries like a little girl in front of Talia Shire.

Sly might be a one trick acting pony but this slot is a winner!”
